our story
Our mission is two-fold: to promote Filipino craftsmanship and to support disadvantaged Filipino learners in completing their education.
our founder
Hello! My name is Daphne and I'm a Filipino residing in Tampa Bay, Florida. Growing up poor in the Philippines, my childhood was not a particularly happy one. My mother juggled multiple jobs to support me and my siblings and my ill-stricken father, and even then it wasn't enough to cover all of our needs. But nonetheless, she persisted with the hope that our education will save us from poverty. And she was right.
Even to this day, this is the reality that majority of the Philippine population face, especially indigenous communities that do not have proper access to quality education due to circumstances beyond their control.
It is my hope that through your support, we will be able to alleviate some of the financial burdens many Filipino children face in pursuing their education.
Every quarter, 10% of our profits will be donated towards a non-profit organization in the Philippines whose main purpose is supporting Filipino learners. A quarterly report will be posted on this page for full transparency.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for supporting Hiraya and this dream of mine.
